Berkshire Mall Training Series
The Berkshire Mall Training Series is a flat, fast race that takes
place on most Sundays from mid-Aril to late August.
It is a criterium format with intermediate sprints, but the cornerless
loop around the mall makes for a less intimidating course than most
criteriums. It is an ideal location for beginner racers to learn
the sport of bicycle racing.

Berkshire Mall Sunday Training Series
Cancelled
Most of you have already heard that the Berkshire Mall
Sunday Training Series has been cancelled indefinitely.
The Mall Safety committee recently determined that
expansion/development of the new Target retail outlet
has created early Sunday morning traffic flow that makes
it impossible to safely organize and run the training
series.
While we are disappointed to have lost the Berkshire
Mall as our Sunday morning cycling venue, we appreciate and
respect the Mall’s concern for cycling safety. As club
President Bruce Townend mentioned in an earlier e-mail,
“remember that the Mall was good to us and hosted the
Training Crit for a number of years”.
If anyone knows of another location that might be a
suitable replacement to hold the Sunday Training Series
please let us know.
One final thought! Club sponsored events like the
Jiminy Peak Road Race, Tuesday Time Trials, Thursday
Touring and the Sunday Training Series are only made
possible with strong volunteer support. While some
decisions and influences are out of our control, one
way to better ensure the continuation of Club sponsored
events like these is to get involved. Please help share
the workload, it’s not too much to ask!

Course:
A fast, flat 1.8 km circuit road around the Berkshire Mall.
Entry Fee (including insurance):
- Berkshire Cycling Association members - $2
- Non-members - $5
Rules:
- All USCF rules apply.
- USA Cycling License required.
- Race Day Licenses available.
Directions:
From Mass. Turnpike take exit 2 (Lee), Route 20 West to Route
7 North to Lanesboro. Turn right at the Berkshire Mall entrance
road. Follow the circuit left to registration.
